Horsemanship Program starts at age 6 and is great for kids and adults.

Lazy J Ranch helps our students learn riding and horse care with achievable goals with our progressive curriculum.

Our Horsemanship concentrates on the student’s ability in the saddle, culminating in a rider who is balanced, educated and confident, able to ride a trained horse with skill and empathy – with different objectives for English and Western riders.

Lazy J Ranch follows the Horse Sense Learning Levels Curriculum setting objectives of equine knowledge, skills and abilities you will to learn divided into short, achievable goals. Each goal is set and met through the completion of each level. As your Horsemanship knowledge develops and you achieve your goals you graduate to the next level and continue your learning.

Horsemanship Lessons emphasize on practical work and confidence building for students with little or no horse experience. Students are introduced to safety in the barn, safe handling methods, learning horse anatomy and parts of the tack, and how to saddle/bridal a horse properly. Once you Graduate from Rainbow Level you are onto the RED LEVEL where you will learn how to safely ride a horse, while having a TON of fun! From there the SKY is the LIMIT!
Life Skills

Horseback riding is so much more than riding a horse. Patience, determination, hard work, and commitment are all taught in this program. Some of the greatest lessons are truly learned in the barn, and will stay with you forever.
